Hubble Space Telescope

Explanation: Since its discovery in 1930, Pluto has been a speck of light in the largest ground-based telescopes. But images from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has allowed mapping of Pluto's surface at a level of detail that reveals a complex-looking and variegated world with white, dark-orange, and charcoal-black terrain. An STS-125 crewmember aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis captured this still image of the Hubble Space Telescope as the two spacecraft separated after having been linked together for the better part of a week.
